Lethbridge Wants Climate Action and a Green New Deal

As stated by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) humans need to cut the amount of greenhouse gases released by half in a decade. Think about that… a single decade. Further, by 2050 we are supposed to have a net zero release of green houses gases. Yet, Canada has been increasing it's greenhouse gas emissions. Here in Alberta we are the worst emitters in the country, we are part of the problem (Data retrieved from: https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/environmental-indicators/greenhouse-gas-emissions.html). So this requires Albertan's to take action and fight for a Green New Deal!

We want a Green New Deal that guarantees: good work for all, indigenous rights, and a livable climate.

Why is this important?

We can’t win a Green New Deal without us taking the lead in our community. Alberta is more than the oil sands. Climate change will and is affecting us right here at home, it's burning our forests and destroying our crops. Our future is under threat and now is the time to fight to save it! Sign up to get involved with Our Time in Lethbridge and tell our leaders you care about the climate!

Join us in Galileo's lounge at the University on Nov. 21 at 3-4 to help take action.
