Climate Justice Ottawa
Based in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin Anishnaabeg territory, we are part of the climate and environmental justice movement following the lead of the most impacted communities to ensure a liveable climate for future generations. Through empowering communities, we challenge political systems that do not align with an equitable and healthy planet. We participate in the process of reconciliation and decolonization, and support First Nations, Métis and Inuit self-determination. We work in a proactive way towards collectively-defined goals, while understanding the necessity for reactionary mobilization in climate organizing, particularly in the national capital.

Get involved with Our Time OttawaAs young people and millennials, we are the ones who are going to live through wildfires, crop failure, and extreme weather. We are also the largest voting bloc in this election. Over the next few months, we will build an enormous voting alliance of young people and millennials in Ottawa. Then, we’ll organize thousands of our friends to vote for Green New Deal champions and to vote against politicians in the pocket of Big Oil.518 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Atiya Jaffar
Demand a federal leaders’ debate on climate change & a Green New DealLast year, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change laid out in no uncertain terms that to limit warming to 1.5ºC we need a swift and far reaching climate response. People in Canada deserve to have all Federal party leaders debate on Canada’s response to the climate emergency and the upswell of people from coast to coast calling for a Green New Deal that creates millions of good jobs, respects the rights of Indigenous Peoples, and that enshrines dignity, justice, and equity for all. We are in a climate emergency. It’s time for Federal leaders debate on climate, and the CBC has the responsibility and power to make it happen.619 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Atiya Jaffar
Our Time to Strike for the Climate: OttawaFor decades, fossil fuel billionaires and their political allies have put people and the planet in jeopardy. Last fall, scientists confirmed we only have 12 years to cut our emissions in half to avoid catastrophic climate change. While the political establishment continues compromising our future, inequality keeps rising, injustice deepens, and the climate crisis gets worse and worse. Our house is on fire — let’s act like it. It's time to fill the streets in an unprecedented mobilization and demand climate justice for everyone.327 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Vi Bui
