Calgary For A Green New Deal
YYC For A Green New Deal is an emerging group of grassroots Calgarians. We are workers standing up for good jobs. We know there is a climate crisis, and as Albertans we’re ready to do something about it. Meanwhile status quo leaders want Albertans to pay for their mistakes. We need real leadership to help Alberta thrive. That's why we need a Green New Deal for Alberta.

Organize with Our Time CalgaryAs young people and millennials, we are the ones who are going to live through wildfires, crop failure, and extreme weather. We are also the largest voting bloc in this election. Over the next few months, we will build an enormous alliance of young people and millennials in Calgary. We will participate in the week of actions for the Global Climate Strike (September 20-27). Then, we’ll organize thousands of our friends to vote for Green New Deal champions and to vote against politicians in the pocket of Big Oil. We won't stop until we have support for Green New Deal policies from our federal, provincial, and municipal governments.468 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Atiya Jaffar
CBC, host a leaders' debate on climateLast year, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change laid out in no uncertain terms that to limit warming to 1.5ºC we need a swift and far reaching climate response. People in Canada deserve to have all Federal party leaders debate on Canada’s response to the climate emergency and the upswell of people from coast to coast calling for a Green New Deal that creates millions of good jobs, respects the rights of Indigenous Peoples, and that enshrines dignity, justice, and equity for all. We are in a climate emergency. It’s time for Federal leaders debate on climate, and the CBC has the responsibility and power to make it happen.1,028 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Peter Driftmier
